Okay guys, I’m just going to say this, but when it comes to sharpies you can go apeshit with the colors. Only because they are vibrant, bright, and colorful.
Alright here I go.
So I like collecting any kinds of Sharpie: Normal, 80’s glamor, etc. So here is my set. Oh and a random prisma color marker since I use it to color the trolls’ skin sometimes. The white pen is for highlights.

Usually, I start off with a light color sketch. For example, peach or a yellow sharpie is a nice choice, but you may try other colors and experiment.

Here are the colors I’m using for Dave and the crow. Take note on the different colors. Basically, you just need to experiment with the colors to see what goes well with others. This is where you go apeshit with sharpies. EXPERIMENT AND PRACTICE IS THE KEY AND YOU WILL SHARPEN YOUR COLOR SENSE/SKILL.

For example on experimenting, I did a bar test.
Magenta/Pink.

Magenta/Pink (I put orange ontop of the pink)/skyishblue/green

Colors I use for Dave’s hair.

SEE! It doesn’t hurt to test colors!
And here is the final product without the PS edits

Note: If you have a basic set of sharpies that is fine. You don’t need a bunch of colors to make things fancy or whatever! You can make a beautiful piece with limited colors.
I had a basic set at first and I drew this out: http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_llh5p7BI7U1qcs89ho1_500.jpg
SEE!
EXPERIMENT AND PRACTICE IS THE KEY YO.
Sorry..I’m a bit lousy at explaining. Forgive me, haha.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, YOU MAY ASK. I WON’T BITE.
